How to Apply DTF Transfers

How to Apply DTF Transfers:

Applying DTF (Direct-to-Fabric) transfers is a straightforward process that allows you to transfer vibrant designs onto fabric. Follow these step-by-step instructions to achieve the best results:

Materials You'll Need:

  1. DTF transfer sheet
  2. Heat press machine
  3. Clean and dry fabric
  4. Teflon or parchment paper

Step 1: Prepare Your Design

Start by designing or selecting the DTF image you want to transfer onto your fabric. Ensure it is appropriately sized for your project.

Step 3: Pre-Heat Your Fabric

Preheat the fabric where you intend to apply the transfer using a heat press machine. This step helps remove any moisture and wrinkles, ensuring a smoother transfer. Set the pressure to HIGH, around 8-9 PSI.

Step 4: Position the Transfer

Place the DTF transfer sheet, printed side down, onto the pre-heated fabric. Ensure the design is correctly aligned and centered.

Step 5: Cover with Protective Sheet

Cover the DTF transfer sheet and fabric with a sheet of Teflon or parchment paper. This additional layer prevents the transfer from sticking to the heat press machine.

Step 6: Heat Press

Set your heat press machine to the recommended temperature range of 300°F-325°F (150°C-160°C) and press for 15-20 seconds, applying firm, even pressure.

Step 7: Cool and Peel

After the pressing time is complete, open the heat press and allow the transfer to cool for a few seconds. Once it's cooled, carefully peel the DTF transfer sheet away from the fabric. The design should now be transferred onto your fabric.

Step 8: Optional Additional Press (Recommended)

For best results, we recommend doing another 5-second press after the cold peel. This extra step can enhance the durability of your DTF transfer.

Step 9: Finish

Your fabric is now adorned with the DTF transfer. To ensure a long-lasting result, follow any additional care instructions provided for the specific DTF ink and fabric type you've used.

That's it! You've successfully applied your DTF transfer, and you can now enjoy your custom-designed fabric.
