Can I put a DTF transfer on the sleeve of a long sleeve shirt?
Yes — DTF transfers can be applied to the sleeve of a long sleeve shirt as well as the chest or back. For sleeve placement use a smaller transfer — typically 3"×3" to 4"×4" depending on the sleeve width. Press the sleeve flat on a smaller platen or sleeve board and use heat resistant tape to secure the transfer before pressing. See our full application guide for placement tips.
What is the difference between DTF transfers on long sleeve vs short sleeve shirts?
The print size and application process are identical — both use a 10"×10" chest transfer pressed at 305°F for 15 seconds with hot peel. The only practical difference is that long sleeve shirts require you to fold the sleeves back flat before pressing to prevent them from bunching under the heat platen. Everything else is the same.
Do DTF transfers work on henley and thermal shirts?
Yes — DTF transfers work on henleys, thermal waffle-knit shirts, and long sleeve performance shirts in cotton, polyester, and blended fabrics. For waffle-knit thermals press firmly to ensure the transfer bonds into the textured weave. A second press with parchment paper is recommended for textured fabrics to maximize adhesion.
